WHAT IS FILLER?
The filler is made of Hyaluronic Acid. A water-loving molecule that acts like a sponge and fills up with water upon injection filling out fine lines/wrinkles and plumping lips. Young skin is moisturized with this hyaluronic acid and naturally occurring sugar. It keeps our skin hydrated via the absorption of water. As we age, this volume of hyaluronic acid decreases, and fine lines begin to appear that will eventually turn into wrinkles. In the lips, this causes thinning, and loss of fullness, volume, and definition. We can also develop vertical or marionette lines around the mouth that cause your mouth to droop, giving you an unhappy appearance. Nasolabial folds can also become deeper due to aging along with other factors such as sun exposure, lifestyle, muscle imbalances, and so on.
WHAT IS FILLER?
Filler is made of Hyaluronic Acid a naturally occurring molecule found in our skin and most face cream products.

WHICH AREAS CAN BE TREATED WITH FILLER?
• Lips • Chin • Nose • Cheeks • Jawline •Pre-jowls • Marionette lines • Nasolabial folds (smile lines) • Vertical lip lines (smokers wrinkles)
WILL THIS TREATMENT HURT?
This treatment does involve facial injections and you will be able to feel some of the injections. To help minimize discomfort a strong numbing cream will be used prior to treatment and the filler used also contains lidocaine analgesia. Paracetamol can be taken prior to treatment but please avoid ibuprofen as this can increase bruising.
WILL THERE BE BRUISING AND SWELLING?
You may experience redness, bruising, or swelling in the injected area for up to two weeks following treatment.
To minimize please avoid alcohol for 24 hours before and prior to treatment.
Light makeup can be applied 6 hours after the procedure. Arnica cream and tablets can be used prior to and after treatment. Arnica contains vitamin K which can help speed up the bruising process.
HOW LONG DOES THIS TREATMENT LAST?
Each filler treatment has a different longevity depending on the density of the filler used and how dynamic the area treated is.
Lip filler is a lower density filler, compared to filler used to contour cheekbones. We also constantly move our lips as we talk, eat and drink which causes lip filler for a shorter time (approx. 4-6 months) compared to cheek filler (10+ months).
Other factors impacting how long filler will last for include lifestyle, skin type, metabolism, etc. Likewise, results may vary from person to person and the number of sessions to achieve the desired result may vary between clients.
Keeping out the sun and always using UV protection will help ensure your treatment area lasts longer.
CAN THE FILLER BE REMOVED?
In most cases, the filler can be dissolved and reversed by hyaluronidase. This is administered via small injections to break the product down.
This treatment is £200 per treatment round.
(This does not include AM Aesthetics alterations)
WHICH DERMAL FILLER IS USED?
AM Aesthetics uses Revolax Filler.
However, if you have a preference or an allergy to lidocaine please contact me to discuss this further.
PRP & PRF THERAPY
What is it?
Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy is a non-surgical treatment that utilizes your own body’s healing abilities to stimulate skin and follicle recovery. It is a natural treatment that uses the platelets from your own blood. These activated platelets secrete and release at least 7 different growth factors which enhance the natural healing process of the skin and hair follicles.
During a PRP Therapy treatment, a small amount of blood is drawn from you into a sterile tube in the exact same manner as a standard blood test. The tube containing your blood is placed into a centrifuge and spun to separate the plasma and platelets from the other blood components.
After a few minutes, the PRP layer is removed from the same tube and re-introduced into the body at the site to be treated. Using a small sterile needle, your practitioner will inject the PRP in and around the desired site.
The production of collagen-induced by the PRP will brighten, rejuvenate and rehydrate the skin even after the first treatment. A course of 3-4 treatments is recommended to see the full effects of this pioneering technique.
PRF is an all-natural solution that can treat areas in the face that show the first signs of aging, like under-eye hollows, deflated cheeks, and in the scalp for hair restoration. Harvested PRP has platelets, fibrin, and white blood cells, which help achieve wound healing, collagen production, and improved elasticity.
How does it work?
Our own blood plasma contains “platelets”, which carry many powerful proteins and enzymes known as “growth factors”. These miraculous, natural elements promote the healing of damaged skin, including skin that has loosened or lost volume due to the natural aging process.
During PRP Therapy, our skilled doctor takes a small amount of your blood. This blood sample is then processed and filtered to isolate the plasma that contains the platelets. The doctor injects this platelet-rich plasma into your treatable areas, causing the fluid to release its proteins and work its natural magic in your skin. The surrounding cells begin to proliferate and repair the damage. Collagen production is enhanced and your skin increases in volume. Over time, your skin becomes firmer, radiant, and rejuvenated.
This treatment may be suggested for the following concerns
`Hair loss & pattern baldness
- Aging skin
- Aging Hands
- Hairloss & pattern baldness
- Neck (loose skin, aging)
- Fine lines & wrinkles
- Nasolabial fold (Smile lines)
- Loss of facial volume
- Acne (including Acne scarring)
- Crow’s feet
- Jowls
- Frown & forehead lines
- Stretch marks
PRP for hair loss
In the last few years, PRP therapy has emerged as an intriguing preventative treatment for hair loss, suitable for both men and women. By separating your own blood (as described above) and then injecting the new Platelet-Rich-Plasma sample into your scalp, it is believed that any stem cells around your targeted hair follicles are kickstarted into action. The result is that new hair growth can be promoted, even with follicles that had previously been inactive.
PRP therapy can be used in conjunction with all hair loss medications, such as Minoxidil and DHT blockers, such as finasteride. You can even use it to complement any hair transplant procedures you may have had elsewhere, the injections working to stimulate the newly planted follicles in your scalp.
As with all hair loss treatments, results vary from patient to patient, but PRP therapy has been shown to improve hair caliber and hair thickness. For optimal results, we recommend that you repeat PRP procedures every three to four months.
What is downtime?
There is no recovery time with PRP therapy and side effects are rare. Occasionally some patients experience bruising and redness in the injected areas.
How many treatments are needed?
Typically, patients require two to three top-up treatments to maintain results that can last for as long as 18 months.
For hair growth, we usually recommend treatments every three to four months. Typically, patients require two to three top-up treatments to maintain results that can last for as long as 18 months.
How long does the treatment take to work?
For skin and face concerns, it will take a few weeks for the results of the PRP treatment to show. However, with two to three top-up treatments, the results of PRP therapy can last for up to 12, or even 18 months.
Contraindications for PRP
- Critical thrombocytopenia (low platelet count)
- Hypofibrinogenaemia
- Hemodynamic instability (collapse)
- Sepsis (infection)
- Undergoing cancer treatment
- Acute and chronic infections
- Chronic liver disease
- Anti-coagulation therapy (warfarin, dabigatran, heparin).
ANTI-WRINKLE TREATMENT
Injectable anti-aging treatments are a quick and convenient way to smooth out those lines on the forehead and around the eyes and mouth without any need for surgery.
FAT-DISSOLVING
WHAT IS EQUALLY?
Aqualyx is an injectable treatment meant to target and melt away stubborn pockets of fat on the body.
WHY FAT DISSOLVING INJECTIONS?
Sometimes no matter how hard you work out and how carefully you watch your diet, you just can’t seem to get rid of stubborn body fat. Working out is great for all-over fat reduction, toning, and overall health, but unfortunately, you can’t “spot treat” fatty areas on the body. Do all the lunges you want, but if your stubborn inner-thigh fat won’t budge, you may be a good candidate for body contouring. This is where Aqualyx comes into play.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The body has its own system in place for burning excess body weight. Acidic bile is naturally produced by the liver to aid in the process of breaking down fat. Aqualyx uses a synthetic form of this acid that’s derived from plant-based ingredients, so it’s safe to use in the body. It’s delivered to the fatty areas through multiple small injections. The acid works to eliminate fat by breaking down the structure of the fat cells. Once broken down, fat cells are dissolved, or liquefied. Once it escapes the cell, the fatty liquid can then be easily burned as the body metabolizes it.
HOW DO I KNOW ITS RIGHT FOR ME?
One important thing to understand about Aqualyx is that it is not a weight loss treatment. It is advertised as “body contouring,” meaning if you have a lot of weight to lose, Aqualyx won’t make that happen. The best candidates for Aqualyx are those who are already leading a healthy lifestyle and maintaining their weight through regular exercise and a balanced diet. This is because Aqualyx works as a spot-reducing treatment for pockets of fat, and NOT as an all-over fat treatment or weight loss solution. Once you are at your desired weight, you’ll be able to discern whether or not there are many stubborn areas of fat that could be treated by Aqualyx. If you eat healthily and exercise and have stubborn areas of fat that won’t go away, then yes, you’re a great candidate for Aqualyx body contouring!
WHY NOT JUST EXERCISE?
Even people who work out are prone to fatty areas in the body. These pockets of fat may be impossible to get rid of through exercise alone because exercise reduces fat all over the body. The results you see from exercise won’t be targeted to a specific area, which is why “spot treating” fatty areas through exercise simply doesn’t work. Furthermore, our bodies naturally try to hold onto fat stored in the subcutaneous layer as a way of conserving energy, which is another reason why some areas of fat are so resilient to exercise. Aqualyx targets these stubborn fatty areas in the subcutaneous layer–the layer of fat just underneath our skin.
DOES IT HURT? ARE THERE SIDE EFFECTS?
Don’t stress! Only minor discomfort is to be expected with this treatment as fine needles and numbing cream are used for all areas to make injecting as comfortable as possible. Potential side effects of this treatment are bruising, swelling, and tenderness to the treated area.
WHERE CAN IT BE USED?
Aqualyx can be used in pads or pockets of fat anywhere on the body.
Some of the most popular areas are extra fat around the abdomen, love handles, inner thigh, double chins, armpits, upper arms, hips, and buttocks.
WILL I NEED MORE THAN ONE TREATMENT?
The number of treatments you need depends on how much fat is in the area you want to target and how your body reacts to Aqualyx. Some people see dramatic improvements with one or two treatments. You can get treated once or up to eight times, depending on the area you want to target. Smaller areas require fewer treatments (usually 1-3), but larger areas or more stubborn fat will probably require more–possibly up to 8.
HOW LONG DO RESULTS LAST?
If you keep a healthy lifestyle, the fat treated by Aqualyx is very unlikely to return. When fat cells have been treated by the Aqualyx injection, they are permanently gone–as long as you don’t gain weight. One way to ensure long-lasting results is to continue to exercise and maintain a healthy diet. Consider this another good incentive to maintain a healthy lifestyle!
HOW LONG IS RECOVERY?
This treatment takes six weeks for final results to be seen, as it takes time for your body to drain away the burst fat cells. Expect significant swelling for the first 5-10 days as the water is drawn into the area and fat cells start to burst. Be sure to plan your treatment well in advance of any events you may be attending.
IS THERE ANYONE WHO CAN NOT HAVE THIS TREATMENT?
Those with diabetes, liver or kidney disease, active skin problems in the area to be treated, or who are taking blood thinning medicine e.g. warfarin are not eligible for fat dissolving.
FACIAL FILLERS – LIP FILLERS AND FACIAL CONTOURING
Which areas can be treated with fillers?
Nasolabial folds (smile lines), Vertical lip lines ( smokers wrinkles), Marionette Lines (Jowls), Lip Fillers, Tear Troughs (Eye bags), Cheek, Jawline, Chin, and Nose
What is filler?
The filler is made of Hyaluronic Acid. A water-loving molecule that binds up to 400 x its weight in water. It works like a sponge and fills up with water upon injection filling out fine lines/wrinkles and plumping lips. AESTHETIC TREATMENTS
Will it hurt?
Numbing cream will be used for 10 minutes prior to the procedure to help minimize any initial discomfort. The injection itself also contains a lidocaine (numb) product to ease the pain of the injection. AM Aesthetics only uses the best products on the market, ensuring the smoothest of consistency and ease of injection.
Will there be swelling?
You may experience redness, bruising, or swelling in the injected area. These effects should not last longer than 2 weeks. Light makeup can be applied 6 hours after the procedure.
Can I remove the filler?
Facial Fillers can be dissolved and reversed by hyaluronidase. This is administered via small injections to break the product down.
Which brand of filler is used?
AM Aesthetics uses Revolax filler for all filler treatments. This filler can be used in conjunction with other brands.
ANIT-WRINKLE TREATMENT
What are anti-wrinkle injections?
Botulinum toxin A (Bocouture) often referred to as ant-wrinkle or muscle relaxant injections works by temporarily blocking the nerve signals to the muscles. The muscle becomes relaxed, in turn reducing the appearance of the lines and wrinkles.
What are muscle relaxant injections?
Muscle relaxants consist of a purified version of a protein and toxin produced by bacteria found in meat. When injected into targeted muscles, these products work by temporarily blocking nerve signals to the muscle. This controlled weakening reduces muscle movement, causing the wrinkles over the muscles to become smoother.
What is the difference between Botox injections and Dermal Fillers?
Muscle relaxants are used to treat wrinkles and lines caused by repeated muscle movement, such as smile lines and forehead creases. They work by temporarily weakening the underlying muscles. Dermal fillers are used to plump up the skin by adding volume. They may be used to fill in wrinkles caused by sagging skin, restore volume lost to the aging process, or enhance areas of the face such as the lips and cheeks.
Which areas can be treated?
Muscle relaxants have been used successfully to treat most areas of the face, smoothing wrinkles caused by facial muscles. Common treatment areas include forehead wrinkles, frown lines, crow’s feet, and horizontal lines on the forehead. AESTHETIC TREATMENTS
What I the ideal time to start?
Many clients begin receiving injections of muscle relaxants as soon as they start seeing signs of wrinkles. Others wait until their wrinkles are more substantial before seeking treatment. There is no reason to delay seeking cosmetic injections and it is best to start before lines become fully ingrained. While most clients begin seeking treatment in their early 30s or 40s, it can be performed safely on clients who are both younger and older. Some patients in their 20’s have injectable treatments to prevent wrinkles and lines from forming.
Are there any age restrictions?
We do not treat anyone under the age of 18 years.
Is the treatment available for men and women?
Yes, muscle relaxant treatment works well on both men and women.
Can I have the treatment while pregnant?
No, for safety reasons you cannot have this treatment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. AESTHETIC TREATMENTS
How long will the injection take?
The injection process itself is over in just a few moments. You can expect to spend half an hour or less in the clinic. The final results will be seen two weeks after botox injections as this is how long it takes botox to take effect on your muscles.
Will it hurt?
The discomfort during this treatment is minimal. We use a very thin needle and the injection process is over in a matter of minutes. For very anxious clients a topical numbing cream can be applied if desired.
Can I still make expressions?
One of the worries many clients express is that the injections will make it difficult for them to move their faces. While muscle relaxants do relax the muscle activity causing wrinkles when used correctly they will not affect your ability to frown, look surprised, and make other facial movements. When overdone, muscle relaxants can have a tendency to cause a frozen appearance. This is why it is important to choose carefully when considering aesthetic treatments. City Aesthetics Clinic only uses practitioners who are skilled at using the right amount of product. You will not look as though you’ve had “work done” and will still be able to move your facial muscles.
How long does this treatment last?
The results of muscle relaxant injections generally last 3-4months, depending on the area treated. As its effects wear off, the skin will return to its natural, pre-treatment state. If you decide against further injections, your skin will be left in the same condition it was before treatment; it will not be any more wrinkled than it was before treatment.
Many clients return for further treatment when they see the results of the initial treatment wearing off. For some clients, top-ups are sometimes necessary, as everyone is different, but are always free with us as we aim to provide sufficient levels in the first place.
You need to leave at least 12 weeks between one full treatment to the next. If you are exposed to the toxin too frequently your body can create antibodies to fight against the treatment resulting in anti-wrinkle injections resistance where it no longer works. AESTHETIC TREATMENTS
Is the treatment reversible?
Anti-wrinkle injections will naturally wear off over time, approximately 3-4 months.
FAT-DISSOLVING INJECTIONS (AQUALYX)
What are Fat Dissolving Injections?
Aqualyx Fat Dissolving Injections are used to ‘dissolve’ stubborn pockets of fat which remain resistant to diet or exercise. The Aqualyx® Fat Dissolving treatment is suitable for tackling areas around the face and the body.
Aqualyx Fat Dissolving Injections are a non-surgical treatment that is administered by a fine and flexible cannula. Fat Dissolving Injections reduce localized fat under the skin.
What does the Fat Dissolving Injections procedure involve?
Aqualyx is based on a formulation containing deoxycholic acid which the body naturally produces to liquefy the fat in the gut, destroys them permanently, and releases lipids which are then expelled by the body through the lymphatic drainage system.
This is not a weight loss treatment or an alternative to diet and exercise, but Aqualyx injections are very helpful in refining body shape by tackling those areas that are stubborn. The body is designed to store fat and it can be difficult to reduce this fat through other means such as diet and training. Fat Dissolving Injections are a great way to reduce fat in stubborn areas.
What does the Fat Dissolving Injections procedure involve?
Using a thin needle Aqualyx is injected directly into the fat tissue through multiple superficial injections. The treatment is mildly uncomfortable and Aqualyx is mixed with a small amount of local anesthetic to reduce the discomfort. After the treatment minor bruising and swelling may develop, these are expected side effects that settle within a couple of days after the treatment.
How long does it take Fat Dissolving Injections to work?
Fat Dissolving Injections take six weeks to see the final results, after inital treatment the area will swell with water which is forced into the fat cells causing them to burst. These burst cells are drained away and excreted over the next six weeks.
Results will be seen after just one treatment (as since in the before and after picture). However, for areas with high fat content, it is recommended to take a course of treatment. A course of 3-5 treatments on the body and 1-3 on the face is usually advised for the best results. These treatments should be four to six weeks apart and each treatment session takes around half an hour to complete.
What Should I do after treatment?
Do not apply any cosmetics onto the treated areas within a 12-hour period and avoid all direct sources of heat and radiation (sunlights, UV radiation, sauna, etc.). You should abstain from particularly demanding physical exercise involving the treated areas for 7 days.
How safe are Fat Dissolving Injections?
As Fat Dissolving Injections are a non-surgical treatment, they are very safe, and side effects are extremely rare.
Patients may experience Swelling, minor bruising and tenderness, mild pain Itchiness, redness, and initial numbness. All these side effects would subside within a week
Should I just diet and exercise instead of having Fat Dissolving Injections?
Of course, a balanced diet and regular exercise are always recommended. However, regular exercise and a balanced diet may not be enough to get the streamlined physique that is desired by many of our patients. This can be down to genetic reasons and you may just find it difficult to reduce fat in certain areas of the body.
When is the treatment not recommended?
Aqualyx is not recommended when the patient is suffering from acute or chronic skin disease in the affected areas. For safety reasons all patients with a medical history including anaphylactic reactions. Severe allergies, severe organic or physical illnesses, autoimmune diseases, or diabetes, as well as women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, are excluded from any treatment with Aqualyx.
VITAMIN B12 INJECTIONS FAQ
What Exactly is Vitamin B12?
Vitamin B-12 is an essential water-soluble vitamin that plays an important role in many functions in the body, including:
- *DNA synthesis
- *Central nervous system
- *Red blood cells and energy production
- *Nerve cell health
- *Red blood cell formation
- *Neurological function
It is one of the most important vitamins because it performs essential functions like assisting in keeping a healthy blood flow and controlling key enzymes in the body. It is generally found in many similar foods and food products.
What are Some of the Benefits of B12?
B12 helps with things like improving your metabolism, helping your memory, and boosting your focus and concentration. It can also be used to aid with diabetes, male infertility, and osteoporosis, as well as, help prevent the vitamin B12 deficiency.
What is Vitamin B12 Deficiency?
Vitamin B12 deficiency occurs when there are low levels of Vitamin B12 in your blood. Some common signs and symptoms include:
- * Decreased cognitive function, such as issues with memory or understanding
- * Fatigue
- * Lethargy
- * Constipation
- * Feeling faint
- * Depression or irritability
- * Headache
- * Difficulty maintaining balance
- * Sore, swollen tongue, which may be pale yellow or very red
- * Heart palpitations
- * Mouth ulcers
- * Paraesthesia (pins and needles)
- * Vision changes
Vitamin B12 deficiency is also more common than you think. About 26% of adults below the age of 60 are considered to be B12 deficient. There’s even a good chance that you may be vitamin B12 deficient and may not even realize it.
Vitamin B12 Deficiency Risk Factors
The following risk factors can increase the chance of developing vitamin B-12 deficiency:
- * Alcohol abuse
- * Smoking
- * Certain prescription medications, including antacids and some type 2 diabetes drugs
- having an endocrine-related autoimmune disorder, such as diabetes or a thyroid disorder
- * Eating a vegetarian or vegan diet
- * Certain gastrointestinal disorders, such as Crohn’s disease
- * Gastric bypass or the removal of parts of the stomach
- * Aging
How Can I Find Out if my Body is Vitamin B12 Deficient?
The best way to find out if you have Vitamin B12 deficiency is with a simple blood test. This test can also determine what other nutrients your body may or may not be getting enough of.
What are the Side Effects of Getting a Vitamin B12 Shot?
As with any supplement, there are some possible side effects to B12. The most common side effects of B12 are mostly harmless things like headache, some slight itching, and some minor anxiety.
What Foods are Good Sources of B12?
If you’re looking for good foods high in vitamin B12, you can’t go wrong with shellfish such as clams, oysters, or mussels. These types of seafood are packed with Vitamin B12. Some other good sources include poultry liver, fish, red meat, dairy products, and eggs. If you’re on a vegan diet or you simply don’t want to eat more meat and dairy products, the best ways to get more B12 in your system would be to take B12 supplements or to get a B12 shot.
What’s the Difference Between a B12 Supplement and a B12 Shot?
B12 supplements and shots are both excellent ways to get B12 into your system. However, there are things to consider before deciding which is right for you.
For one thing, B12 supplements are sometimes cheaper than injections. You can find supplements in any pharmacy and you don’t need a prescription for them. You can just pick them up over the counter. However, oral supplements also lose a significant portion of the vitamin in the absorption process and you would actually need to take more than the recommended dosage to feel a lot of the benefits. The digestive system also impacts whether or not your body can actually absorb B12.
B12 shots, on the other hand, don’t require a daily dosage, as you would with supplements. You only need about one a week or sometimes less, depending on your level of B12 deficiency. 100% of the vitamin is used by the body and you won’t have to take more than the required dosage, unlike with supplements. B12 shots are considered just as safe as supplements and may actually be more cost-effective than supplements in the long run.
What’s the Best Way to Get Vitamin B12 Into Your System?
If you’re looking for the most effective way to get B12 into your system, the best choice would be a Vitamin B12 shot. As with supplements, food sources of B12 lose a significant amount of the vitamin in the absorption process and may require more than the recommended amount. Plus, you’d have to eat lots of meat and dairy products to get the needed levels of B12 into your body, which could end up affecting your body and health.

FILLERS AFTERCARE
- • Avoid touching the treated area or applying with products for 6 hours following treatment. After that light makeup can be applied and the area can be gently washed with soap and water.
- • Until the initial swelling and redness have resolved please do not expose the area to intense heat. Eg sunbeds, sunbathing, or extreme cold.
- • Please do not exercise for 48 hours after your fillers procedure as it can cause migration of filler.
- • If you have previously suffered facial herpes, there is a risk that injections could contribute to another eruption.
- • If you are using aspirin or any similar medication, please be aware that this may increase the risk of bruising or bleeding at the injection site.
- • Any injection causes an inflammatory response – This means two things;
- • This is not your final result – It is not uncommon for the treatment area to remain swollen for up to two weeks. During this time the area may look very uneven, feel bumpy, bruised, discolored, and may feel sore. Please do not panic. It is normal during this period to not be entirely happy with your results. Patience here is key.
- • The final result will be apparent approximately 14 days after treatment. If you have any concerns, please book in for a review after this two-week period is up. Any initial discomfort during this period can be eased by the application of ice.
- • This is not your final result – Any injection causes an inflammatory response. This can easily cause disappointment over the following weeks because as the swelling subsides, the treatment area may look significantly less plump than it looked immediately after injection.
- • The filler has not dissolved nor disappeared, you have not wasted your money. The filler has simply sunken and formed a layer at the base of your treatment area. Many clients find they need two or three sessions in order to layer filler on top of one another – until the filler no longer has room to sink – leaving you with a fuller look.
- • Unfortunately, AM Aesthetics cannot predict how many sessions each individual will need to achieve their desired result and therefore cannot be held accountable if several sessions are needed. The results of your treatment durability and end results are influenced by several genetic and lifestyle factors completely out of our control. Aesthetics is an art process – not an exact science.
BOTOX ANIT-WRINKLE AFTERCARE
Pre Treatment Advice
Do NOT consume pro cleaning ae at least 24 hours prior to treatment (alcohol may thin the blood and increase the risk of bruising)
Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications (unless prescribed), if possible for a period of 2 weeks before treatment. Medications and supplements such as aspirin, vitamin E, ginkgo Biloba, ginseng, St. John’s Wort, Omega 3/Fish Oil supplements, Ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, Aleve, and other NSAIDS have a blood thinning effect and can increase the risk of bruising and swelling after injections.
Schedule your Dermal Filler and Botox appointment at least 2 weeks prior to a special event that you may be attending, such as a wedding or a vacation. Results from the Dermal Filler and Botox injections will take approximately 4 to 7 days to appear. Also bruising and swelling may be apparent during that time period.
Be sure to have a good breakfast, including food and drink before your procedure. This will decrease the chances of lightheadedness during your treatment.
You are not a candidate if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Post Treatment Advice
Do NOT manipulate the treated area for 3 hours following treatment. Do NOT receive facial/ laser treatments or microdermabrasion after Botox injections for at least 10 days.
Exercising the treated area after Botox treatments helps the Botox find its way to the muscle and take effect faster.
Do NOT lie down for three hours after your Botox treatment. This will prevent the Botox from tracking into the orbit of your eye and causing drooping eyelids.
It can take up to two weeks for results to be seen. If the desired result is not seen after 2 weeks of your treatment you may need additional Botox.
Do NOT perform activities involving straining, heavy lifting, or vigorous exercise for 6 hours after treatment. This will keep the Botox in the injected area and not elsewhere.
Avoid strenuous exercise for 48 hours
Use UV protection if going in the sun to ensure your botox lasts longer
Turn facial setting off on sunbeds or avoid sunbeds for at least one-week post treatment until botox has taken.
Avoid saunas and hot baths until botox has been taken to prevent sweating the product out.
FAT-DISSOLVING INJECTIONS – AQUALYX
Recovery instructions:
After treatment the area may redden and swell and bruising may be experienced.
Aqualyx works by causing an inflammatory reaction in the fat cells which can result in swelling that lasts 3-5 days. This swelling can be obvious when having facial treatments (e.g. chin). During this time you may want to organize time off work / social engagements.
Swelling can be reduced with the use of a cool pack wrapped in a clean cloth and used for a maximum of 20 mins. Do not use any anti-inflammatory tablets (Ibuprofen) for 48 hours.
Do not apply make-up or skincare to the treated area for 12 hours – then only use a clean brush or sponge for application until day five.
Avoid for:
Three days – extreme temperatures, swimming pools/spas/saunas.
10 days – of physical exercise.
14 days – laser, cryolipolysis, or radiofrequency treatments.
Common side effects:
Red, tight and itchy skin.
Swelling.
The treated area may feel tender and firm for up to eight weeks after your treatment.
